Ocean Quest Scuba Favorite Dive Sites
“Sandy’s Sunday”
Although we have over 50 dive sites to choose from here is a list of our favorite 10 sites:
Juno
Ledge:
This is a long reef with a ledge ranging up to 20 ft.
At the top of the reef the depth is 70ft, and the bottom of the depth is
at 90ft. This is a great dive with
Sharks, Turtles, Goliath Groupers, and much more.
(25 minutes from our dock)
Shark Canyon: This is a double – ledged system, and as you can guess it is named after the family of Caribbean Reef Sharks that live there. It has a top ledge in 73 ft, and a bottom ledge in 90 ft. This is a beautiful reef with huge schools of Spade fish, grunts, chubs, snappers and jacks. Turtles also frequent this reef, and a large Goliath Grouper lives on the deep ledge near the beginning of the dive. If your looking for a little adrenaline rush, then Shark Canyon is just what you need. (25 minutes from our dock)

Jolly
Jacks:
This is a very nice reef in 65-80 ft of water and is one of our favorite
for lobster. With lots of blow -
outs, rocks, ledges and crevices we often find lobster tucked away here.
This is also one of the reefs that the Nurse Sharks frequent during their
breeding season. (20 minutes from
our dock)
Corridor:
One of the older wreck site in Palm
Beach it is mature with marine life. It
serves as a home to as many as 8 Goliath Groups, with “Big Daddy” weighing
somewhere in the 450 lb range. Getting
up and close to these beautiful fish is easy, just follow your guide and stay
calm. The site is consisted of four
different wrecks, and you will drift your way through them.
Turtles, eels, large schools of fish, and rays are often seen here.
(10 minutes from our dock).
Princess Anne: Another one of our wreck sites that rests in 100ft of water. This wreck is full of marine life and is one of the few spots that we see Bull Sharks. Goliath Groupers are also here, along with a army of hundreds of huge Barracuda’s standing guard around the wreck. This is a good spot to search for shark’s teeth on the deck of the wreck.
South Double Ledges: This is another one of our double ledged sites that runs from
65ft on top to 93 ft on the bottom ledge. This
site is just plain breath-taking, and the marine life is wonderful.
Huge schools of fish, beautiful Angels, eels, lobsters, sting rays,
sharks, turtles, and much more. (15
minutes from our dock)

North Breakers and Turtle Mound:
One of our shallower dive sites with depths running from 44-60ft, it is
absolutely the best of the Palm Beaches diving.
With a vast array of colors from everything you can imagine, sea fans,
coral, huge barrel sponges, craps, Christmas Tree worms, lobster, shrimp, huge
schools of fish, turtles, eels, rays, Nurse sharks and to many more to list.
One the top of the reef is a huge field of soft coral, sea grasses and
fans. This is where our open water
divers do their check out dives, and we do most of our night dives. This site is never a disappointment (20 min from our dock)
Flower Garden: If you are into macro photography, this is the site for you.
With an average depth of 55ft, you can get a great amount of bottom time
here. You’ll enter the “Fish
Bowl” area and be amazed at how many fish can actually squeeze into a small
area. A trip to Palm Beach just
wouldn’t be the same without a dive at this site.
(25 minutes from our dock)
Trench: This dive site is unique due to the fact it was actually man
made. A trench was cut through the
reef many, many years ago. The
trench is approximately 15ft wide and runs east-west with a nice 6ft ledge on
both sides. The trench serves as a home to a large green moray eel, and turtles.
Also a great dive for first day of mini-season, it is like a lobster
hotel that time of year. This dive site has a maximum depth of 60ft, so it makes
for a nice long dive. (Site
is 25 minutes from our dock)
Paul’s: This is our farthest dive site to the south. It ranges from 44-60 feet and has a double ledged structure to it also. With the top ledge providing an abundance of marine life, and the lower edge home to huge sting rays, cobia, snook and nurse sharks, this is a very unique site. We also have a local Hammerhead that is sighted in this area from time to time.
