Ocean Quest Scuba Hunting Page
Special Announcement
2/22/2008
It is my belief that everyone has the right to enjoy the aspect of this sport that they enjoy. That is one reason why I allow spearfishing on my boat. I also believe that every scuba diver has a obligation to help protect and defend the ocean and the marine life that calls her "home". Recently there has been an incident here in WPB, that although didn't involve our boat in anyway, it still involved marine life that lives on reefs we frequent. I will not tolerate the use of "bang sticks/power heads" on my boat. Anyone that uses one while diving off my boat will be escorted back to the dock by the US Coast Guard and/or Marine Patrol. Anyone that harasses protected marine life will be reported immediately. It only takes a few people to ruin the "rights" of the many. I know that there are more hunters that have a positive attitude, ones that care for the envirnoment they hunt in, those that follow the laws of our state, country and morality. Those of us that are, need to take a stand against those that would simply kill a shark for the "thrill"??? of killing. Those that would nearly drown a young Green Turtle, a member of the Endangered Species Act.
Ocean Quest Scuba takes that stand!

Sandy's Sunday" is a hunter friendly atmosphere. Our boat is equipped with a custom designed spear gun rack, lobster snare rack, and game cooler. We provide you with ice for your fish during the trip, and zip lock bags for your filets. There is a customized cleaning station right at our slip to help you prepare your catch for the ride home.
We do comply with all Florida Marine Laws and Regulations, and everyone that lobsters or spear fish on our boat must have a current Florida Salt Waters License. All hunters are also required to have a surface signal device with them. We prefer orange or red safety sausages they seem to work better than the yellow ones.
We also believe in the “kill only what you’ll eat” philosophy. Hunters are allowed on all of our trips, and we ask that they just be considerate of others onboard, and to remember:
Dive Safe First……..Hunt Second.
Mini-Season 2007
We spent a lot time and money this year scouting out our dive sites for the lobster mini-season. With an unusual lack of our upwelling, and the water temperatures staying high, the lobsters were much harder to locate than in previous years. We took crew trips out scouting and utilized crew members on surface intervals of our other trips to check out locations. After scouting our over 40 different dive sites we were confident that we knew where to go. Our extra effort paid off for our customers and we brought home some very nice lobsters. Our total take on our first three tank and lunch trip was well over a 100 lobsters, and remember we only had 9 customers onboard. Running with two captains and two dive masters our crew was constantly in the water helping located those "bugs". Our over all season, including our Thursday trips were considered a success. Once again we provided our customers with the right sites, crew and adventure to make this a great time for all.
Mini-Season 2008
Remember it is never to early to make your reservations. Mini-season spots sell out months prior to the actual days, so plan ahead. Let us know if you need lobster gear this year we will have a supply of snares, bags and gauges for sale. You can just order them and we'll have them on the boat when you arrive. One of our friendly staff will give you a demonstration if you haven't used it before.
Big News!!
We've added a second boat for holidays and special events. Which means we've got some more space available on weekends we are already full. Mini-season spots are nearly sold out on "BOTH" boats so call soon and get your spot! You'll have the same Ocean Quest Scuba crew you know and trust....we've just added a new boat! More details coming soon. We'll be out scouting in June and come mini-season we will coordinate both boats for a lobster smack down!!!
Don't wait call and get a spot while there are still a few openings.
It’s a better world underwater !!!
